A giant, new warehouse in Amherst now has a tenant.
Masy Systems has leased 160,122 square feet in a new distribution center at 2 Howe Drive. Masy will use the building as a temperature and humidity-controlled biopharma storage facility, according to The Stubblebine Co., which represented Masy. Roger Dieker of CBRE represented the landlord, Ashoke Rampuria.
The 233,166-square-foot building finished construction this year, according to public records. The building has 36-foot clear heights and 36 loading docks, Stubblebine said.
Masy’s Masy BioServices arm specializes in cGMP storage of components and products used in the life sciences industry, plus a range of other services like instrument calibration and cloud-based facility monitoring.
Terms of the lease were not disclosed, but Colliers’ third-quarter report on the state’s industrial real estate sector noted that the average rent, triple net, in the Nashua area was $7.82 per square foot for warehousing and distribution space, with a vacancy rate of 4.5 percent representing only 395,840 square feet of direct availability.
