Aerospace and automotive supplier Hitchiner recently broke ground on a 57,000-square-foot facility designed and being built by by Manchester-based PROCON.

The facility will join others on Hitchiner’s Elm Street campus in Milford and will “house value-added services used across Hitchiner’s various business units,” the company said in an announcement.

The Elm Street campus casts metal components for jet engines, among other functions, Hitchiner said.

“We are thrilled to partner with PROCON on this significant expansion,” John Morison, president and CEO of Hitchiner, said in a statement. “This facility is a testament to our commitment to manufacturing world-class products, while also contributing to the growth and success of both our employees and the community we call home.”

“We are proud to collaborate with Hitchiner on this important project,” John Stebbins, CEO of PROCON, said in a statement. “Our partnership is rooted in a shared dedication to innovation and quality, and we are excited to design and build a facility that will help Hitchiner continue its legacy of excellence.”

The new development will also bring new jobs to Milford.
