An assisted living facility has been proposed for New London, next to the New London Hospital.
The facility’s developer is Continuum Senior Living, a Lewiston-based developer and operator of senior living facilities.
New London Place would have a main lodge with 20 memory care units, five independent living units, 47 assisted living units and 26 independent living condominium units in cottages, according to the developer’s petition filed with the town. The cottages will be spread among two cul-de-sac neighborhoods, and will also have a gazebo, children’s playground area and a pickleball court, according to the project’s website, and a trail will connect the campus directly to the hospital.
The facility is being built on a 43-acre, wooded parcel that is currently part of New London Hospital’s campus. The New London Planning Board unanimously approved the development in late December.
