Multifamily investor-developer Greystar has hired Gary Kerr as managing director of development for its New England projects.
Kerr will be responsible for managing new development projects in New England and expanding the development pipeline for Greystar in Massachusetts, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont.
“Gary brings a breadth of experience to his new role at Greystar, in addition to a keen understanding of the market,” Greystar Senior Managing Director of Development Todd Wigfield said in a statement.
Most recently Kerr served as managing director of real estate for Cronin Development, a major Seaport developer. He joined Cronin Development from Tishman Speyer, where he was a senior director overseeing mixed-use developments in Boston. Kerr has been active in the industry since 2005 and has managed large-scale, ground-up developments for various asset classes. Kerr previously held roles developing real estate in multiple European cities.
Kerr has an MBA from Boston College and is an active member of Urban Land Institute, US Green Building Council, NAIOP, RICS and United Way of Massachusetts.
Kerr will be supported by a local team that includes recently hired Morgan Pierson, director of development, and Ryan Souls, development associate. The team will be based at the Greystar Boston office.
