Medtronic, the Fridley, Minnesota-based medical device manufacturer, is closing its 150-person facility at Pease International Tradeport in Portsmouth.
Medtronic spokesperson Brett Cromwell told The Registry Review that the company leases the building at 180 International Drive. Portsmouth land records list the property as being owned by a Delaware corporation, 200 International LP, and managed by CP Management. CP Management, according to its website, also manages a number of other properties at Pease.
“We don’t have a specific closure date at this point. We are also early in a lease that extends beyond the next 12 months, so still working through what we want to do regarding the lease,” Cromwell wrote in an email.
The facility is being closed as the business unit it is a part of is being restructured, Cromwell said. It will report into Medtronic’s Enabling Technologies business, headquartered in Louisville, Colorado. The facility is currently used for “mostly office space, with a couple of lab spaces for bench-top testing and a warehouse for storing product,” he added.
The 2-story building has 56,998 square feet of interior space, according to Portsmouth property records.
