Salem’s Tuscan Village mega-development will be anchored in part by an L.L. Bean store.

The store will open in fall 2020, according to a press release. The store will be 15,000 square feet in size.

According to the Lawrence Eagle-Tribune, customers will be able to try out the outdoor outfitter’s paddle boards and kayaks in Tuscan Village’s lake.

“Salem is an ideal location for us, situated among residential communities and near the gateway to adventures in the White Mountains,” Greg Elder, retail vice president at L.L. Bean, said in a statement.

L.L. Bean already operates stores in West Lebanon, Concord, Nashua, North Conway and North Hampton.

Tuscan Village, developed by local businessman Joe Faro’s Tuscan Brands, recently saw the opening of a new Market Basket, Ford dealership and 270-unit apartment complex at the site of the old 170-acre Rockingham Park, also just off Interstate 93 – with 96 additional condos currently under construction.

In addition, Tuscan Village recently started infrastructure work on the “south village” portion of the project that could potentially include 900,000 square feet of office space, two hotels, 600,000 square feet of retail space and 450 multi-family residential units.
