NHMB Names First Chief Digital Officer


Joanne Pearce will be the first chief digital officer at New Hampshire Mutual Bancorp (NHMB) as the $2.6 billion-asset group of lenders looks to build its digital transformation 

In her new role, Pearce will create and implement NHMB’s digital transformation strategies, enhancing the customer experience for sister companies Merrimack County Savings Bank, Meredith Village Savings BankSavings Bank of Walpole and NHTrust. 

Pearce will also ensure that the organizations are maximizing the benefits of their existing digital applications, while she also researches, designs and recommends new solutions for the future, NHMB said in its announcement. 

“Joanne’s extensive background in technology combined with her expertise in risk management, make her the ideal candidate for chief digital officer,” NHMB President and CEO Gregg Tewksbury said in a statement. “The benefits of ensuring long-term strategic planning plus a dedicated focus on new and emerging technologies provide the significant impact necessary for our success. Joanne’s leadership will help us to grow to new heights under NHMB’s unique mutual model.” 

Pearce joined Meredith Village Savings Bank in 2002 as a data security specialist. She was promoted to vice president of risk in 2006 and to senior vice president and risk management officer in 2009. When NHMB was formed in 2013, Pearce took the same role for the full organization. 

Pearce holds degrees or graduate-level certifications from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the American Bankers’ Association Stonier Graduate School of Bankingthe Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania the Kogod School of Business at American University and Trinity College.  

Pearce is also the current chair for the Risk Committee at the NH Bankers Association.
