Conway Planning Board Wants to Extend Moratorium

The Conway Planning Board has voted to ask town meeting members to extend the community’s one-year moratorium on large commercial development.

The Conway Daily Sun reports board members feel the town needs to stop and “catch its breath” as local officials work to complete a master planning process.

The moratorium is set to end in April of next year, but officials are worried zoning updates related to the master plan – expected to be finished in January – won’t be completed by then.

The moratorium bans new development proposals of 50,000 square feet or more. Conway Town Meeting will be asked to extend the moratorium by another year.
