Jaffrey Factory Gets New Tower Additions

A medical manufacturer in Jaffrey now has a big, 4-story addition.

Teleflex Medical OEM recently added an 8,200-square-foot tower to its facility at 50 Plantation Drive, courtesy of Massachusetts-based commercial contractor Vantage Builders.

The addition is called an “extrusion tower,” Vantage Builders said in an announcement, and it helps Teleflex build a range of medical devices used in cardiology, neurology, radiology, and other areas.

The build was tricky, Vantage said, because Teleflex’s facility runs around the clock, every day. Careful coordination and scheduling between the project team members and Teleflex was a necessity while work on new concrete foundations, structural steel and significant systems work were all completed.

“It’s very rewarding to work on projects for clients who are involved in life-saving work, like Teleflex,” John Connor, principal at Vantage Builders, said in a statement. “Always key to the success of any project is open, frequent communication and that was particularly the case with the new extrusion tower. Our team managed communication among Teleflex, the architects, engineers, subcontractors, owner representatives, and town officials to keep the project on schedule.”

The project team included Lavallee Bresinger Architects, NV5, CBRE and Miller Engineering & Testing.
