After 16 years helping run his family’s manufacturing business, including four where he ran his home city of Keene and four more where he served on the Keene City Council, George Hansel is switching careers, again.
According to the Keene Sentinel, he’s sold his interest in his family business, Filtrine Manufacturing Co., and become a developer.
Hansel lost the Republican primary for the state’s 2nd Congressional District in 2022 before announcing last year he wouldn’t run for a third term as mayor of Keene.
According to the Sentinel, Hansel is partly motivated by the state’s persistent and painful lack of affordable housing.
