Bangor Savings Bank has firmed up plans for the downtown Concord properties it purchased in August of last year.

The bank bought 76-82 N. Main St. and plans to renovate the first and third floors of 82 N. Main for a branch with lending and wealth management services. The second floor of the building and 78 N. Main will be renovated for future tenants. The full-service bank branch is expected to open in March of 2020 with 14 employees and room for more. Landry/French Construction will be the general contractor for the new branch.

Bangor Savings worked with the city of Concord Architectural Design Review Committee and New Hampshire Historic Preservation to finalize a construction design that fits with the historic facade of the buildings.

“We appreciate the guidance and recommendations from the Concord committee and New Hampshire Historic Preservation,” Bangor Savings Bank President CEO Bob Montgomery-Rice said in a statement. “We are lucky to do business in many historic downtowns, and we look forward to joining Concord’s downtown soon.”

The N. Main Street branch will be the second for Bangor Savings in Concord. The bank took over the former Granite Bank branch on Loudon Road in the spring of 2018 as part of its acquisition of four Granite Bank locations.
