Local developer Chinburg Properties has put a former General Electric factory in Somersworth under agreement with plans to redevelop it into a mixed-use destination project.
The 10-acre Aclara property at 130 Main St. could become a mix of apartments and “California-style” retail center, according to Foster’s Daily Democrat.
Aclara, a manufacturer of utility meters, announced last year that it plans to close its operations at the factory.
Chinburg is currently in the process of permitting a 60-unit property on the site of Dover’s former courthouse.
