A long-planned apartment development in Manchester is finally under construction following a lengthy legal battle.
Abutters had sued to stop Red Oak Group from building the 90-unit, 6-story building at 409 Elm St. just down the street from the SNHU Arena south of downtown.
Court battles have dragged on since 2013, the New Hampshire Union Leader reported, but the state Supreme Court recently affirmed a lower court’s ruling allowing the project to move forward without holding oral arguments.
Red Oak, a major Manchester landlord, had seen an abutting landlord question how the building would affect traffic on Elm Street.
