A nonprofit has formed to honor Mark Stebbins, the late CEO of development and design firm PROCON and XSS Hotels, by establishing a community center in Manchester.
The Mark Stebbins Community Center nonprofit was established in March, but the New Hampshire Union-Leader reports the group has prepared a formal $17 million proposal for a site on the city’s West Side. The group, whose board includes several prominent businesspeople and a member of Stebbins’ family, will seek only private donations to build
The site’s selection was inspired by a lack of resources for residents in that part of the city, the paper reports.
In addition to his achievements in the real estate industry, Stebbins was well known as a philanthropist and volunteer.
Stebbins died unexpectedly at age 67 last summer.
