Rochester-based Holy Rosary Credit Union now has a café connected to its newest branch.

HRCU’s Greenland branch will be connected to a coffee shop run by Pink Hippo Café via a set of French doors, and will also feature a “coffee lounge” where Pink Hippo customers can relax.

The element of physical separation will let Pink Hippo open earlier and stay open later – from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day – than the branch, which is only open Monday through Saturday.

“The Pink Hippo Café is a small, community coffee house, committed to delivering exceptional, personalized service to each and every customer who walks through our door,” café owner KatrinaSavino said in a statement provided by HRCU. “We are thrilled to partner with HRCU as we create this new community gathering space. The outpouring of excitement from the community as they welcome us with open arms has been humbling. We look forward to becoming part of the fabric of Greenland’s community.”

The Greenland store be Pink Hippo’s second location in addition to one at the Mall at Fox Run in Newington. The branch is HRC’s fourth location in addition to its branch in Rochester’s Spaulding High School.

“We are very excited to be working with the Pink Hippo Café to bring a one-of-a-kind experience to our friends and neighbors in Greenland and the surrounding community,” HRCU President and CEO Brian Hughes said in a statement. “Working through the idea and details over the past year, it was clear that we both share many of the same values, starting with providing a great experience for our customers. And having the vision of doing it in a comfortable and inclusive environment, brings it all together. It is going to be a fun partnership.”
