By one measure, the degree of anticipation awaiting the planned Hampton Beach Casino redevelopment is already significant.
The project has yet to break ground, much less announce a construction lender.
Yet The Lupoli Companies, the developer behind the project, is already being feted.
The Hampton Area Chamber of Commerce said it gave the company its Faith in the Future honor at its annual awards dinner at the Atlantic Grill in Rye on Jan. 28.
The company was recognized for “their forward-thinking investment and long-term commitment to the region,” the business group said.
“The Annual Awards Dinner served as a powerful reminder of what makes the Hampton Area business community so special. The Hampton Area Chamber of Commerce is proud of its members and the broader community for their continued hard work and generous contributions—whether financial, physical, emotional, or otherwise—to the place so many are proud to call home,” the group said in its announcement.
Demolition is slated to begin this summer, construction on the new Hampton Beach Casino may not be completed until 2029.
The project will eventually include a larger Casino Ballroom events space, new retail and restaurant space, a 52,000-square-foot charitable gaming casino, a 208-room hotel with a spa, 99 condominiums and a 730-spot parking garage.
In addition to the awards given to The Lupoli Companies and others, M&T Bank New Hampshire President Tim Wade announced a $30,000 donation to the Hampton Beach Seafood Festival.
