Kane, Procon Break Ground in Hampton

Local developer The Kane Company, development partner Tidemark and its general contractor Procon Inc. have begun construction on a recently-approved multifamily conversion of a former office complex in Hampton.

Located just off Interstate 95, the Liberty Lane development is planned to have 225 apartments that Kane had told local officials will rent at “missing middle” prices for people making between $67,000 and $100,000 per year.

The amenities package will total around 10,000 square feet and include a pool, project filings show.

The One Liberty Lane office complex was built in the mid-1970s but had been vacant for some years before Kane secured approvals for the conversion

The current project is aiming for an early 2027 completion date, a Tidemark representative told the Portsmouth Herald, and the site is big enough to hold up to 400 more apartments, subject to future approvals.
