For the first time in almost two generations, two local Realtor boards have merged in New Hampshire.
As of Aug. 31, the Sunapee Region Board and Upper Valley Board have come together to form the Upper Valley Sunapee Region Board of Realtors, the New Hampshire Association of Realtors announced this month.
“It’s going to bring a new enthusiasm, a new excitement.” Laura Hallahan, most recent president of the former Sunapee Region Board, said in a statement. “I’m super pumped. It’s a great opportunity to start something new.”
Jenna Luce, Hallahan’s counterpart on the former Upper Valley Board, said the size of the new board will not only allow it to draw from a larger leadership pool, but also to have a bigger impact on the communities it covers.
“Look at the Greater Manchester/Nashua board, how big they are and how much impact they are able to have,” she said in a statement. “I’d like that to be where we’re heading. We will be able to help quite a bit.”
Hallahan is also an NHAR member liaison for the Greater Manchester/Nashua Board.
The two boards will start the process of getting to know each other next month. The combined Upper Valley Sunapee Region Board of Realtors plans to host a casino night in Eastman Oct. 6.
“It’s going to be great,” Luce said. “It’s a great opportunity to modernize our board and make it work for everyone.”
