Some brokerages are looking to go mobile with the technology they give their agents, helping them stay as productive as possible out of the office.
Due to the coronavirus outbreak, Berkshire Hathaway Verani Realty has gone to essentially fully remote operations.
The firm, one of the state’s biggest residential brokerages by number of agents and offices, is reducing staffing at its offices to a bare minimum, with only regional managers present in its offices during normal business hours. The move was meant to “protect the health and well-being of our agents, staff and community.”
Agents are instructed to meet clients in person only when necessary, and to follow social distancing guidelines when they do. Staff have been instructed to wipe down the conference rooms following any meeting.
The brokerage also says it is prepared to utilize video conferencing technology to deliver in-home presentations in place of traditional open houses home showings. The brokerage plans to continue offering in-person home showings and open houses provided participants follow safety protocols.
