Prominent Manchester apartment developer Red Oak has cut the ribbon on its latest building in the city, with Mayor Joyce Craig in attendance.
The 6-story, 90-unit building is aimed at “upscale” renters with amenities like “space-saving robotic furniture,” Red Oak said in a post on its website about the new building at 409 Elm St., down the street from the SHNU Arena. The beds, available in the building’s studio units, “convert the space from a bedroom into a living room with the press of one button,” Red Oak said.
Other amenities include 16 coworking suites, off-street parking, electric vehicle charging stations, a fitness center, yoga studio, bike storage and a pet washing room. The building’s studios, one-bedroom, two-bedroom and three-bedroom units are being offered on lease terms between six and 15 months and without security deposits.
“We are confident these new residential and coworking options will be very attractive to those looking to rent and work in the Greater Manchester area,” Ronald Dupont, president of Red Oak, said in a statement. “Red Oak chose this site because this area of the city is ripe for development. We believe this project will be the catalyst for future growth and development on the south end of Elm Street. We designed housing with the types of amenities that will attract people who are tech savvy and want to call downtown Manchester home.”
